When Pinoys - someone from the Phillippines - comes to America, it is said that they are Fresh Off the Boat or FOB. It may sound disparaging, but Pinoys see this as a badge of honor...except the ones that were born here because they were never on a boat.
There are so many distinguishing characteristics of a FOB. This blog will enlighten those who don't know any Pinoys - especially the people in the midwest who lump us in so many different groups: Hmongs, Chinks, Gooks, Nips, and our favorite, the all-inclusive, Orientals.
